Killeen, TX—March 29, 2019—John Driver, Bell County Commissioner for Pct. 4 announced this morning that he has formally endorsed Sandra Blankenship for Killeen City Council District 3. On the endorsement, Driver had this to say:
"Serving in the military for 30 years and then working as the Operation Director of Fort Hood Family Housing, I know the importance of being able to work across the table with people of diverse agendas. This is an experience I have brought with me to the Bell County Commissioners' Court and I know it's something that Sandra will bring to the Killeen City Council. She is a tireless community advocate who will fight fiercely to protect the best interests of our families, friends, and neighbors, yet listen intently and respectfully to another side.
Sandra understands that the only way for our government to work is to ensure that everyone has a voice and that people are placed over special interests."
A military spouse, Mrs. Blankenship moved with her husband to Killeen in 1995. Mrs. Blankenship graduated from the Central Texas College nursing program at the top of her class and made a career as a pediatric home health nurse in Killeen for 15 years. Since retiring from nursing, she has been been involved in several community organizations that focus on helping the underprivileged in Killeen. She is a Master Gardener involved in the Killeen Municipal Court Garden to grow food for various shelters and food banks in our community. Mrs. Blankenship serves as Parliamentarian for Killeen LULAC Herencia 4297 and is the Treasurer for the Bell County Texas Democratic Women.
